  • 1/2 cup softened shortening
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 16 oz jar of applesauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1 cup raisins

Method:

  1. Mix together all the dry ingredients.
  2. Mix in wet ingredients and beat for 2 to 4 minutes.
  3. Mix in raisins and nuts.
  4. Pour batter into greased and floured 9×12 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Best served the next day.
