This is the Eastern Point Light in Gloucestor, Massachusetts.You can get to this lighthouse by Route 127 and turning south on East Main Street. Take a right onto Eastern Point Blvd and continue all the way to the lighthouse. Nevermind the “Private Way” signs – you CAN go to the lighthouse. Don’t go inside the fenced off area however, it is coast guard property. You can walk around the fenced in area and onto the breakwater where you can get a really great view of the lighthouse.

There is a parking lot. You may find the parking lot is completely full since a lot of people go fishing off the breakwater.

The current brick lighthouse tower was built in 1890. The lighthouse was originally established in 1832 and automated in 1986.

Along with the light tower, there is a large station, which is housing for the U.S. Coast Guard.

Winslow Homer is one of the lighthouse’s more famous visitors. In fact, he liked it so much he stayed for a year in 1880.

The lighthouse stands 36 feet high.
